my bombshell of a grandma

my grandma ruthie passed away this morning.

i am at a loss of words.

my heart aches for her wit, intellect, calls for "vitamin N", sweet smile, and her incredible heart.

my heart also aches for my Grandpa Lou. It doesn't seem right that they are not together.

as my mom would say theirs is a love story for the ages

it doesn't seem right, without her here. luckily i know i will see her again, that my grandpa will be with her again, happy and healthy and together.

i am happy you are happy now grandma, i know it was so hard for you to have your mind and physical health slip away. i just miss you.

thank you for being such an incredible example to me, to us. you were a strong woman, you were intelligent, modern, funny, passionate, caring, romantic, spiritual, and so loving. you touched so many lives through your family, work, and three missions. especially the young women through out the world. a life well lived.

it is now up to us, your family, to carry on your legacy. i hope we can do half as much as you did.

i miss you, and grandma judy.

eighteen months

my presley girl,

here you are eighteen months and sweet as can be.

no one makes us laugh more, smile more.

you are such a happy baby girl. you always want to party and are such a social butterfly.

you love to read books, eat yummy foods, talk all day, take baths and showers, give hugs and kisses, wear jewelry, close doors behind you with a big grin and wave "bye bye", play with Baby, have friends over, walking on your tippy toes, love to point out all the animals, butterflies, and bugs in every book, wipe your own nose with a kleenex, talk on the phone, cook/clean/put on makeup - do anything you see mommy doing everyday, watch a show, run and explore outside, say hi to every stranger and all the cars and trucks, your obsessed with choo choo trains, push strollers around, play with gigi's dollhouse, you love to sleep (after our routine you go down in the crib wide awake and fall asleep with no crying - this is huge!!) and most of all you love to play with mommy and daddy and laugh so hard you have to throw your head back.

we seriously can't get enough of you.

we love you.

so so much.

we took your paci away about three weeks ago, cold turkey. you took it pretty well.

within two days your tiny two front teeth came down from going straight out and you went from about four or five words to thirty! you are such a smart little girl who want to do anything and everything.

presley's words:

and you understand just about everything we say. i love watching you grow and learn presley.

dancing in the rain

presley and i

have been having way too much fun together during my school break.

i am loving having no deadlines and just playing with my girl again.

i forgot what that is like.

it's the best.

on one of our rainy days, we got out and danced in the rain. presley was loving every minute in the cold getting soaked.

baby hungry

I've been spending a lot of time organizing old photos and creating videos before my hard drive shut down on me ...

this short video clip of my sweet girl is making me real baby hungry! which is a good thing considering everyone i know asks when we are going to start on baby #2.

christmas day

Presley woke up and ran downstairs at Gigi and Papa's to see a tree full of presents, and a new rocking giraffe from santa! she was so excited!

we start with stockings, and breakfast in the morning until M & C come for presents.

i don't mean to brag, but, i make a delicious punpkin pecan waffle with maple cranberry butter.

seriously, to die for.

i am making more new years day morning ... who's in?

we had presley open Baby first.

it was love at first sight.

we could have stopped there.

Christmas Sunday

Presley looked so sweet in her Christmas outfit on Sunday.

I didn't get a family shot this year, but who needs one with my girl around?

side note: I was so worried this year about having our tree destroyed day after day. I tried to think of ways to have it potted and up higher, but didn't have the time. But, Presley was so good about the tree. She only had an obsession with one ornament, the white christmas sweater she's holding. She would take that off the tree, play with it and hang it back in the same place multiple times a day. Thank you Presley girl.

Dan MC'd his work's Christmas party this year. This photo says it all. He was quite the hit.

Presley and I drove up to LA stopping by the Corry's house first. I always have to visit Tara and Colton whenever we go up. They are some of our favorite friends.

Presley enjoying the good food. She didn't really understand why she couldn't be up on stage with Daddy. So instead she was either clapping for him or yelling "daddy!!" all night.
